Surf Photography by NicoleGrodesky

I’ve always been drawn to the in-between moments, the ones suspended between movement and stillness, so I use both water photography and a land lens to capture them fully. In the water, I’m as close as you can get without being on the board myself. You can hear the water crash, hear the silence right before it does, smell the salt in the air, and feel the whole world pause for a heartbeat. My goal is to translate that experience through my work, communicating not just what surfing looks like but what it feels like. Whether someone has spent a lifetime in the lineup or has never paddled out at all, I want every image to carry the energy, tension, freedom, and awe of those moments, so the viewer feels like they were right there.
